Pea's 21st - Tuesday, April 28 @ 10:34 PM
A long overdue post on the first 21st party that I attended this year.
I don't usually attend parties but of course there are exceptions. Alan is no ordinary friend 'cos we knew each other since kindergarten and we became close friends since P5. For the past few years, I was always overseas on his birthday so he told us months before about his party and specially instructed me not to go overseas this time round lolol. Well, he didn't had to worry because I can't and I won't be overseas on his birthday for the next few years since it's during the normal school term :p March was a crazily hectic month with me mad rushing my projects, individual assignments, study for mid terms, packed with meetings (even on Sundays) and etc. Plus SG was away for training the entire month so I hardly go anywhere except school. Guess the only event I attended was Alan's belated party on the 28th. And maybe because of this, that night seem specially fun. Met some primary & secondary school friends at the party and had a reaaaally good catch up with them. As much as I thought I wouldn't enjoy birthday parties and think it is a waste of time, I enjoyed catching up with these people. Became so talkative in front of them that I wanted to continue talking or at least listen to their stories and didn't want to leave. In fact, I repeatedly said that I gtg but ended up staying past midnight oh gosh. -_-
Anyway, check out the first photo I took of that night...yes, DESSERT TABLE. All prepared by Crystal C. *round of applause* Ok, I am reminded of something funny when I see this picture. Alvin has been trying hard to control his diet and lose weight so he hasn't been eating such food. On the other hand, I am trying extremely hard to gain weight so I don't really watch what I eat. That night, I kept attacking the macarons and ate it so deliciously that Alvin couldn't resist. We gorged ourselves with a lot of macarons, wow. During the photo-taking session, I stood behind the macarons and took one macaron after almost every single photo (well, that explains why I always stood at the same place hehe). Yumz.
Left: A blurry photo 'cos I look best when the photo is blur hahahahha. Anyway, this is why I seem to always be the one taking wefie. Don't understand what's so tough about taking selfie/wefie rofl.
Right: I don't know man. Why so formal? :/
Left: Ok, awkward pose is awkward.
Right: Ok, this Alvin FOOL trying to be funny again. It was supposed to be a "blue-attired people" photo with Alan. Alvin already took with the "white-attired" people but he continued standing there and when asked why he still stood there, he pulled his boxer out and said "there, blue colour what."

Post-finals - Saturday, April 25 @ 11:44 PM
Charlene asked “为什么你每次考完试就pack你的wardrobe?”
Yup. This post meant that my finals ended! And yea, I am done with packing my wardrobe, but only halfway through with my table and cabinets. Anyway I've got only 4 days (from the day of my last paper) of rest before school starts again, but it's better than none. Caught Insurgent with Alan and it was good, I can't wait for Allegiant to be out =D. After that I watched The Fault in Our Stars online. It was really weird watching Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort act as siblings in the Divergent trilogy and then watch them as a couple in The Fault in Our Stars though. Ok i am keeping this real short. |

What's my part? - Friday, April 3 @ 11:16 PM
So we had to do this 6 pages long "Leadership Assessment and Development Plan" for our Leadership and Team Building module.
Procrastinated long enough before I finally decided that I had to get started before I start panicking when the deadline (Tuesday) came. Anyway, I thought I should just post a short paragraph of my essay because that particular sentence that my poly personal mentor said still lingers in my head till today. I think it has impacted my mindset to a certain extent. Here it goes! "I remember vividly that my polytechnic lecturer once told us that our society can be depicted as a pyramid. Most of the people in the society will be at the bottom of the pyramid, while a number of them will be in the middle with only a handful of people that managed to climb to the top of the pyramid (i.e. society). While I do not agree with her fully, I understood where she was coming from. We all have our own roles in society. Personally, I....." Sidetrack for a moment. I feel so primary 4-ish cos the word "vividly" honestly reminded me of my P4 form teacher, Mrs Lee-Ong. She was the one that taught me the word hahaha. Anyway because I rushed my report till 6a.m in the morning of the submission date plus I had two presentations that day, so I didn't had time to read through the report once more. And I spotted lots of mistakes in the report when I read through it just now! ARGH FREAKING SPEECHLESS!!! Ok, back to topic. That was something my poly personal mentor told the class multiple times. Most gave the disgusted look every time she mentioned this. Though I do feel that she should have encouraged us more instead of pouring cold water on us, but it is true that everyone has a part to play in the society and not everyone can rise to be partners, CEOs, etc. (Edited: I think I should elaborate a little more. That paragraph doesn't show the way she pour cold water on us..it's the things she say like, "you guys can't compare with the JC kids" etc. *roll eyes*) So what's my part? NO IDEA. But I know I must remain contented and strive to do well even if I only aspire to be a small fry HAHAHHA who knows one fine day I wake up wanting to set up a business of my own! :O |

SMU Y1S2 - Thursday, April 2 @ 9:34 PM
School is coming to an end with only one make-up class on Saturday and then some 2 weeks of exams and...we are so done with year 1 semester 2! Time do flies when you're having a good err...time? Hahaha
Was thinking to myself that I really am in need of some good encouragement during this critical period. It's always during this period of time where I feel my energy drained because we've been working hard for the past 13 weeks, rushing mid terms, projects, assignments, presentations, and when it is time for exams...I've got no "energy" left. Although most friends say, "what? I always slack till study break then chiong one shot." I will be like, "DON'T BULL..." Anyway this semester feels different from the last. I know I have repeated this many times but last semester was really depressing for me and I am glad this semester was better. Was it because of the prof last semester? Well, maybe? Or maybe it was my mentality. But one thing for sure is I still dislike her till this day. I avoided eye contact with her whenever I saw her coming my way. ("LOL seriously, Constance?" - Oh gosh I can imagine my Bro saying that to me.) Mid terms results may be a little disappointing. But nope, not letting that affect me. Besides, I always think a little setback do more good than harm to me. You've got to focus on the finishing line!!! Lastly, I hope I will at least land among the stars... :) |
